John Boyega x Converse: Create Next Film Project

Challenge

In an inspiring collaboration with John Boyega and Converse London, we were tasked with a profound mission: to launch the Create Next Film Project. This initiative aimed to empower a new generation of Black filmmakers by providing them with the mentoring, support, and funding needed to bring their visionary stories to life. The project's essence—"The next thing isn’t out there. It’s in us. It's in you."—demanded a visual and auditory experience that would not only complement the cinematic visuals but also encapsulate the themes of hope, determination, and the infinite potential within each creator. 

Our Approach

Embracing the emotional depth and cinematic scope of this project, our team set out to craft a soundscape that would resonate with the heart and soul of these emerging filmmakers. The music was envisioned to embody the journey from aspiration to achievement, starting with subtle, atmospheric tones and gradually building to an inspiring crescendo. This sonic evolution was designed to mirror the filmmakers' journey, filled with passion, struggle, and eventual triumph. The challenge was to create an auditory experience that would not only drive the film forward but also leave the audience in a reflective state, contemplating the boundless possibilities that lie ahead.

Outcome

The finished film was a testament to the power of collaboration and the universal language of sound and music. The auditory journey we created not only enhanced the cinematic experience but also deeply moved viewers, evoking feelings of hope, determination, and the unwavering belief in one's potential. Our work with John Boyega and Converse on the Create Next Film Project stood as a beacon of inspiration, encouraging young Black filmmakers to dream big and pursue their passions with courage and support.
